November 2001 Edition.

November 2001 edition

As we approach November 5th we remember perhaps the earliest of terrorist conspiracies - the Gunpowder Plot of 1605.

In this year of 2001 we have witnessed a terrorist atrocity of even more demonic proportions; no doubt there will be many effigies of Osama bin Laden condemned to fire around the world on November 5th this year.

Terrorism has therefore been with us for four hundred years - but it is only in recent years that it has manifested itself so fiercely and so frequently. The reason for this seems obvious. In the 17th century terrorist leaders like Catesby, Fawkes and the Winters were dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Today, alas, terrorist leaders like Mugabe, Mandela, Adams and McGuinness are feted by the sick liberal establishment. Even the madman Saddam Hussein was allowed to retain power in Iraq after all the atrocities he committed in Kuwait and against the Iraqi Kurds - only the various patriotic and nationalist movements in the West seemed to advocate that the Gulf War should be finished properly.

During the early 1980s November 5th Bonfires were held in the Reunion district of south Durban under the auspices of the Rangers F.C. Supporters Association Durban Branch, and effigies of Nkomo and Mugabe were regularly burnt following the Air Rhodesia Viscount and Elim Mission atrocities - and rightly so.

We must NEVER forget those who suffered at the hands of international terrorism, and we must NEVER forget those who perpetrated such evil crimes. We burn to remember.

The Springbok Club was most honoured to welcome Jill Baker as guest speaker in October. Jill was touring the UK in order to promote her recently-published biography of her father, "Beloved African", and gave a captivating talk both about the book and her memories of her father, as well as passing on some interesting though worrying information about the current situation in Zimbabwe.

There was a very good attendance at this meeting, probably the best turnout for over a year - and it was particularly pleasing to see many new faces, as well as many welcomed old ones, at this event. It seems therefore that the Springbok Club has finally overcome the disasters caused by the "Yates incident" at the end of last year, so therefore is clearly growing and advancing once again.

There are still a few (though we emphasise very few) tickets left for the Springbok Club's 2001 UDI Day Dinner.

Once again, this event will be held in a well-known Whitehall Club not far from Embankment Underground Station on the evening of Thursday 8th November, with the dinner itself commencing at 19.30 hrs (though we will undoubtedly start to congregate from about 18.00 hrs onwards)

We are most pleased to be able to announce that our Guest of Honour will be none other than Andrew Roberts, the highly-acclaimed historian. Andrew Roberts is 38, and gained a first in Modern History at Gonville and Caius Colleges Cambridge. Amongst his most famous books are "The Holy Fox" (the biography of Lord Halifax), "Eminent Churchillians", "The Aachen Memorandum" (a EuroSceptic thriller) and "Salisbury, Victorian Titan". He takes a particular interest in British Imperial history, and has a special affinity to Rhodesia.

The dinner will consist of a three-course meal, and tickets are priced at only 20 guineas (£21.00) per head. If you are keen to attend and haven't already booked a place then we advise you to contact us by e-mail as soon as possible in order to confirm your booking. All payments should be made payable to "Patriotic Press" and sent to: The Springbok Club, BCM SAPAT, London WC1N 3XX, U.K..

The Johannesburg Rhodie Reunion 2001 will take place at the Johannesburg Social Club on Saturday 10th November. For more details please contact Rodger Graeme at:

Both the Hampshire and Kent Branches of the Springbok Club held successful meetings during October, with numbers definitely "on the up".

Both the Kent and Chilterns Branches are anticipating holding further gatherings before the end of the year, and it is also hoped that an official Dorset Branch will be inaugurated early during 2002.

As usual, there will be an unofficial trip of Springbok Club supporters to Lewes for the November 5th Bonfire celebrations this year. For more details about rendezvous arrangements etc email us at :-

The next "Zimbabwe Human Rights Protest" will be staged on Saturday 17th November 2001 outside the Zimbabwe High Commission, 429 The Strand, London WC2 (nearest tube stations: Charing Cross and Embankment) and commencing at 12.00 hrs. This protest will include a petition being handed to 10 Downing Street at approximately 13.00 hrs.

We have also received brief information about a protest against South African farm murders being staged in Trafalgar Square on November 11th, but unfortunately we don't know any more precise details.

We have recently been informed of the dedication of a Rhodesian memorial window at R.A.F. Halton, the details of which are as follows:-

During the past month we have received some financial help which has meant that we've been able to complete the distribution of "S.A.Patriot-in-Exile" No.35, so therefore we can now commence upon publication of edition No.36. We will still need some further financial assistance in order to pay for the printing and postage costs of this issue however, so if you are able to help in any way please send your donation (made payable to "Patriotic Press") to: BCM SAPAT, London WC1N 3XX, UK.

Ex-Rhodesian Isaac Benatar's new novel, "The Nostradamus Prophecy", is a story of international intrigue, terrorism, suspense and romance. Through his diamond business, Rod Crown is inadvertently caught up into the world of terrorism and espionage. The stakes are high. The Blue Turban, the leader of a clandestine Iranian terrorist group has discovered a use for diamonds in a new missile technology. The target is the United States and world domination. From four hundred years in the past, the prophetic quatrains of Nostradamus reach out across the centuries, to warn against the man he predicts will bring forth a cataclysmic event to the Twenty-first century.”

Bryan Bennetts from Kansas, USA, writes as follows:-

I have a quick question: Do you have any contacts in Houston (Texas), because I am looking for a place to stay for the weekend of December 1st, because the Springboks are playing rugby against the USA? Please let me know, because I REALLY do not want to miss that game for anything, true! I need a roof Friday evening the 30th of November, and up until Sunday evening, the 2nd of December. I am planning on taking the Friday off of work, and also the Monday (3rd of December). I shall arrange my airfare accordingly. I heard that there are TONS of South Africans down there, yet I do not know a single one of them! If you can help, please notify me. Thanks a million. Hell, I shall even buy them a ticket to the game, as well....whatever!

No.37 :  Mr. Ray Home of La Lucia.

Ray Home worked as a pharmacist at Addington Hospital in Durban, and his wife was a teacher. He was a keen supporter of the Patriotic Forum, and was a particular friend of our great colleague Mike Skelly, who of course died so tragically young in 1997. Several of our friends are very keen to make contact with Ray again, so if you can help in any way please contact us at the usual address.

As usual during the month of November we recommend the web-site of a Lewes Bonfire Society. This year we recommend the site of the South Street B.S.; although one of the smaller societies (indeed their web-site dates back to 1997) they are still one of the staunchest supporters of the true traditions of Bonfire. Their most informative web-site can be accessed at:-

In the October edition of the SCN we reported on a character named Hilton Myers, who had plagued us with a series of ignorant and foul-worded e-mails. We have subsequently been informed that this sick individual has sent a number of obscene e-mails to the daughter of one of our supporters. This certainly seems to confirm the deformed mentality of those who oppose our aims and objectives. Once again any further information about this degenerate would be most appreciated.

A few weeks ago we were also contacted by an individual from Vienna, Austria, by the name of Guenther Zorn, who appeared to be totally supportive of our cause, and who ordered a real South African flag from us. Accepting his bona fides at face value we therefore sent him one of these flags - but in response we received a most hurtful e-mail from him in which he revealed himself as being a "close friend" of communist ANC supporters, and singing the praises of the "new" South Africa, and saying that we should never have left Marxist South Africa but rather should have "work[ed] from inside to [build] a better future". We are uncertain whether this despicable character is a deliberate agent provocateur, or whether he genuinely misunderstood what our movement stands for. In either case he should be avoided like the plague.

Yes those idiots that supported the return to Black rule are getting their just deserts! After the wise people who knew what was coming left. Only the White bootlickers were left. And after the Blacks had taken all they could and messed things up completely, the only people to take from are the idiots that were the collaborators in the whole sorry mess. How funny and sad. Have you met any of those who are now fleeing, do they finally get it, that Black rule and wealth and the rule of law are impossible?

Yours etc.,

Bert Watanabe, USA

South Africa has lived through terrorism for almost the whole latter half of the twentieth century. The present South African government came to power through terror, intimidation and murder. Necklacing (placing a tire filled with petrol over someone and setting it alight) was a favourite ANC method of punishment and coercion.

More than 1 100 white South African farmers and their families have been murdered since 1991. There have been more than 6 000 farm attacks. In many cases, robbery was not the motive. At the recent Transvaal Agricultural Congress, one delegate referred to the murderous assault on the farming community as a “terrorist war”. And that it surely is. The tactics resemble the Kenyan Mau Mau, only on a much greater scale.

During the pre-ANC takeover years, at the height of their terrorist campaign to force both black and white South Africans to accept ANC/SA Communist Party hegemony, the West exhorted particularly white South Africans to “moderation”. Negotiate, don’t retaliate, was the name of the game. While the previous National Party government “negotiated” away an orderly and prosperous South Africa, the terror continued outside the conference halls.

There were 23,140 documented political killings in South Africa between 1985 and 1996, this even though the ANC took over in 1994. There were probably more - nobody knows the numbers. These “political” killings have now been replaced by other forms of terrorism – the “ethnic cleansing” of white farmers and the huge crime rate of the cities.

The murder rate in South Africa in 1999 was 55 per 100,000 people, against 5,7 in the United States. Forty percent of whites were victims of crimes in 1999, although they are a small percentage of the population. Crime cost South Africa R30 billion in 1999 alone.

Huge arms caches were entering South Africa in 1992 via ANC/SA Communist Party couriers.  SACP general secretary Chris Hani was a prime perpetrator of this movement of this arsenal of terror and murder. Two years before, these revolutionaries and terrorists declared that the armed struggle was over. Whites were told that moderation and conciliation and compromise would save the day. However, the threat of the terror of the  armed struggle dogged every day of “negotiations” until the spineless F.W. de Klerk finally capitulated.

So where did moderation get us? None other than Henry Kissinger himself urged white South Africa to give up power. Retaliation against terrorism in South Africa was condemned in the corridors of Western power and was shouted from the UN’s rooftops. Now that self-same Henry Kissinger says that those who endanger America’s “way of life” must be rooted out and destroyed.

But what of those in South Africa who tried to protect their way of life, a way of life distinctly similar to that of Americans? What happened to Janus Walus and Clive Derby-Lewis who assassinated Chris Hani, a self-confessed terrorist who declared publicly that South Africa would become a “wasteland” and who openly targeted politicians, judges and black “collaborators”for elimination?  Were not the aims of Derby-Lewis and Walus similar to those now being discussed by President George Bush and his cabinet? South Africa is nothing less than the world in miniature. The terror and the savagery of the ANC revolutionaries were as foreign and despicable to many  South Africans as the tactics now being used against Americans.

Globalisation has created  the global village. South Africa was simply a smaller version of that village. Many South Africans tried to fight terrorism. Some like Derby-Lewis and Walus tried to destroy it at source, a plan now being hatched by George W. Bush.

UN head Kofi Anan said this week that “no just cause can be advanced by terror”, yet it was the terror of the ANC (ably supported by that same UN) against which many South Africans fought. Some paid with their lives, and others sit in jail.

Americans who complain about the terror wreaked against the WTC should remember that their government was instrumental in supporting it in South Africa, both politically and financially. Those in South Africa who tried to stop the terror were punished, while those in the West who are now trying to destroy it have the sympathy of the free world.

“We will not be cowed by terrorists, by people who do not share the same values we share and who care nothing for peoples’ lives”. So declared President George Bush on CNN 13 September, 2001. This was the same motivation which prompted people in South Africa to try and destroy Western and Soviet-backed ANC terrorism.

Talk of “eradicating” Osama bin Laden, of “taking out” those responsible for the WTC destruction was thick and fast on Washington’s Capital Hill this week. NATO General Wesley Clark told CNN on 15 September that “these individuals must be eliminated one way or another. If they resist arrest, we must use other means”. Yet those who tried the same tactics in South Africa are incarcerated and declared criminals, even by some whom they tried to save from the calamitous New South Africa.

It’s a strange world.

"Patriot", Johannesburg
